Financial Times: How the chandelier swung back into fashion

GA has been featured in the Financial Times, contributing to a recent article exploring the renewed appreciation for chandeliers in contemporary interiors.

The feature highlights our work on the new suites at The Savoy Hotel, where existing Murano glass chandeliers became a defining starting point for the design.

Rather than introducing new statement pieces, the approach was to celebrate and elevate what was already there - using the chandeliers as an anchor for the wider interior concept. Materials, colour palettes and detailing were carefully developed to complement their craftsmanship and presence, allowing these heritage elements to take centre stage.

“They were natural anchors: exquisitely ornate and deeply tied to the hotel’s art deco identity,” says Wing Tam, an associate at GA, the studio tasked with the redesign.
